26,000 Schools Raised $28 Million!
During this year’s Student Series Programs nearly 26,000 schools—a quarter of all schools across the country—engaged in meaningful service, leadership and helped save lives!
Students connected with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) mission and collected spare change, made online donations, held talent shows, ran bake sales, taped their teachers to walls, partnered with community business, shaved heads, and so much more to raise money and make a difference in the lives of blood cancer patients.
Because of this amazing work, donations from the 2015-2016 Student Series Programs are expected to total over $28 million!
Thanks to these efforts and those of the teachers, parents and communities that support these extraordinary students, LLS is able to help blood cancer patients and their families. A world without blood cancers is the LLS goal. And the millions of students who participated in this year’s programs are making an impact.

LLS Mission
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
More than 1.1 million people in the United States are living with, or are in remission from, a blood cancer.
To date, LLS has invested more than $1 billion in research. The five-year survival rate for children under 15 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) has improved from 3% in 1964 to 90% today.
As there are no means of preventing or early screening for most blood cancers, the LLS research agenda is focused on finding cures. From 2001 through 2013, nearly 40% of new anti-cancer treatments were FDA-approved for blood cancer patients, more first approvals than for any other group of cancer patients.
