So many people in our communities are affected by cancer. Your school is participating in a Pennies for Patients event that gives students and families the power to make a difference in the fight to end cancer. Sharing your goals, activities, classroom competitions, and staff participation through social media will give your families the ability to connect with LLS and contribute to the work our researchers are doing every day to find a cure. We want to make it easy for you to share your school’s Online giving page link and spread the word about the AMAZING work your school is doing to help LLS! Use these samples for your school. Send them out on social media, school newsletters, parent emails, and school announcements and include your school’s link. If you don’t have your school’s unique link handy, click here to find it.

Email/Newsletter to Parents
**Engage your students by helping them to write their own letter/email to family and friends. This is part of your students’ experience taking an active role in a service project and allows them to take ownership. Messages that come directly from them are a meaningful part of their education and something they can be proud of. A simple email with your school or classroom page link is an easy way for students and parents to be engaged in your LLS community service project.
**Parents will be reading their school newsletter from their phone or computer and can donate on the spot when you include the link to your school's main fundraising page. Post an update message each week in your newsletter and include deadlines so they know to donate as they read it! Please use the logos provided below.
"(School’s name) has accepted the challenge of helping to find a cure for Blood Cancers! We are joining over 27,000 schools across the nation to make a difference in the lives of Blood Cancer patients. Leukemia is the most common cancer in children, adolescents, and young adults under the age of 20.
Starting (date of campaign), our school will be working to reach a goal of $(goal). A letter will be coming home in your child’s (day of the week) folder talking about Pennies for Patients along with instructions for setting up their own online giving page. Our students are tasked with completing six missions on their three week journey to help find a cure for Blood Cancers in honor of local students and current patients. Help make your student’s page here and donate today! (insert link)
LLS & (School’s name) is sponsored by our local Olive Garden. If the school raises at least $750, then the top earning class will win a pasta party. Plus, by simply sharing their online page or donating change through Pennies for Patients and watching the donations add up, each student learns that even a small effort can make a real difference in the lives of others.
Stay tuned for more details on our exciting activities/competitions that will happen during Pennies for Patients. (list activities, spirit days, etc) All missions and donations must be completed by (end date of campaign).
Thank you for your support!"
