AVRIE'S STORY

Avrie is just like any other seven-year-old little girl. She is an active, loving and imaginative first-grader, she loves to play dress up with her little sister, Addie, enjoys the outdoors, and her favorite color is purple. However, for the second time in her young life, instead of finding ladybugs and chasing butterflies, Avrie is receiving treatments for Leukemia.
In 2011, four-year-old Avrie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). Since then, Avrie has seen more time in and out of the hospital than anyone should in a lifetime. Throughout all of the medicine, hair loss, and tests, Avrie and her family have stayed strong and faithful. After a five-month remission, they again find themselves in the fight of their lives.
Despite the return of Avrie's illness, and frustrating chemo treatments, it is her spirit that defines her, not her diagnosis. As soon as Avrie is well enough, she will certainly have much to do, just being herself.
"It is said that while we teach our children about life, it is our children that teach us what life is about. While we hold you, brave Avrie, let nothing hold you back."
-Kate, Avrie's mom
