Consider using one of these fun ideas to augment your Student Series Giving Program!

Clean Out Your Console — Student council members wait in the car rider lane as students arrive, and ask students/ parents to clean out their consoles to fight cancer.  Consider going to neighboring elementary or middle schools to collect during car rides.

School Walk Out — Give students the chance to walk together in support of LLS. Ask students to donate $5 to participate in the walk, and then have students sign a banner to hang in celebration of their teamwork.

Pay Not to Play — Play an annoying song (like the Barney song, or Rebecca Black’s “Friday”) during EVERY class change until the school meets their goal!

Half Time! — Don’t forget half time at your sporting events! It’s a great time to remind the community of your efforts and take up a collection!

Delay the Day—Class doesn’t start until the teacher counts all the money in their period. Try “changing” it up: Math classes Monday, Language Arts classes Tuesday, etc.

Rock for a Cause — Host a battle of the bands concert, talent contest or variety show and charge a donation for admission.

 It's a "Thon" Thing — Some ideas include: Bowl, Drum, Skate, Hula Hoop, Jog, Read, Walk, Bike, Dance, Math, Eat or Blog-A-Thon.

Battle of the Sexes — Create a boy vs. girl competition for a cure. Which gender can raise the most funds?

Digital Dollars — Encourage your students to create an email to friends and family about participating in Student Series and asking for online donations. Also, promote your page through emails, social media posts, newsletters and the school website. 

Chores for Charity — Challenge students to serve others by raking leaves, shoveling snow, cleaning houses, selling hot chocolate or baby-sitting for optional donations.

Staff Silent Auction — Organize a silent auction in the teacher’s lounge with items donated by staff and local businesses.

Stuck for a Buck — One of the most popular ideas! Students pay $1 for a piece of duct tape they use to tape a lucky staff person to a wall.

Pennies Pie — Reward the top fundraising classrooms with the chance to pie their teacher at the end of your campaign.

Crazy for a Cure — Have a favorite staff person kiss a pig, shave their head, put on a chicken suit, etc. if your school reaches its goal.

Make Leukemia Disappear — Place the word “leukemia” at the entrance to school. Each time your school collects a certain amount, remove one letter.

Paper Icons — Use the paper icon pads to create a Wall of Hope at your school. Sell the pennies for $1 or $5. Businesses can sell these too!

Teacher Dress Down/Student Dress Up Day — Teachers are encouraged to look their worst while students are encouraged to look their best. Votes cost a quarter.

Traveling Trophy — Make your own trophy. Each week of the campaign, the class/period raising the most money is awarded the trophy for the week

Team Up Against Leukemia — Designate a “jersey day” where students wear their favorite team jersey to school by donating $1 or more. Talk about the importance of working together as a team to reach your school’s goal
