Roswell High School in Roswell, GA has been a loyal participant in Student Series since 2008 and over the years has raised over $129,000 for LLS.  Their passion is fueled by Rachel, who beat leukemia as well as a former student, Merrill, and a teacher at a nearby elementary school, Jannon, who both lost their battles to leukemia.

Roswell High students went above and beyond to have their best year yet and raise $26,000 to be linked with a LLS funded research portfolio. Veteran Coordinator, Ally Williams, rallies the staff to join the fun by purchasing a Roswell High School/Pennies for Patients t-shirt designed by the NHS officers. The majority of the staff purchase the t-shirts, which allows them to wear jeans every week throughout the course of the school year. This staff only fundraiser kick starts the school’s efforts and makes a large impact for Roswell’s fundraising and stirs excitement in the students.

In an effort to ensure they hit goal, the school set fundraising benchmarks and when those benchmarks were met, the faculty and students celebrated with some creative and fun events like their Principal Jerome Huff, played student for a day, where he dressed like a typical teenager, was yelled at for interrupting the teachers in class and forced to remove his hat in band practice. The faculty put together a Kardashian skit and filmed it, they also hosted a production of Roswell Dancing with the Stars, where students and faculty were paired off in a dancing competition in front of an assembly of students. The most impactful benchmark was when three National Honor Society students, Shahamat, Ally and Jacob, agreed to shave their heads when their school reached $15,000. Pictured above is a photo of the three students proudly displaying their selfless dedication and extreme support of Pennies for Patients. The students also encompassed their campaign around the giving key, where they sold t-shirts and handmade jewelry to raise awareness and funds for our cause.

Roswell High School continues to be the top performing school in Georgia, ranking number 9 in the country in the 2015-2016 school year!
