William Mason High School in Mason, Ohio, has participated in the Pasta for Pennies since 2002. The Mason School District has been hit rather hard with more than half a dozen students diagnosed with a blood cancer in the past several years. The program is led by the National Honor Society advisor Barbara Shuba and the other NHS officers. Mason High School attributes this years' success to the active participation of the entire student body (3600 students) for organizing a series of fundraisers including a 5K Color Run, Talent Show, Week-long Classroom Collection Competition, Nerf War, Dine & Donate Nights, but it was the Lip Dub Video and the online giving donation page that helped them go from collecting $22,000 in 2015 to $61,533.23 in 2016 making them the #1 ranked school in the nation.
