On October 12, 2012, 11 year old Maya was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The first year of treatment was tough for Maya. She often got sick due to the side effects of chemotherapy and eventually began to lose her hair, which was the hardest and saddest part of her journey.

Maya’s favorites include lobster, writing, and movies. She wants to be a pediatric oncology nurse.
