GABRIELA RECALDE
Age 10, was diagnosed in February 2007 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when she was just 2-years old. The typically energetic and playful little girl began to experience trouble walking and fell often while playing. After testing was completed, it was found that Gabriela would have to endure 2 years of chemotherapy, surgeries, countless blood transfusions and EKG tests. Today, Gabriela is a healthy 7- year cancer survivor who loves dancing, gymnastics, swimming, and spending time with her friends and sisters!
QUINTON WARD
Age 10, was diagnosed in April 2012 with Stage 3 Lymphoblastic Lymphoma when he was 7-years old. Quinton expressed that he felt a slight pain in his groin area along with having a fever. His parents decided to take him to the doctor where Quinton received an ultrasound which revealed a mass in his body. Quinton went through 2 years and 4 months of treatment, including chemotherapy and spinal taps. Today, Quinton is a 3-year cancer survivor who loves social studies, sports, playing video games, and eating tons of macaroni & cheese.
