Ava is a first grade student at Hilltop Elementary School in Canfield, Ohio.   She has a little sister named Emily, four dogs named Sharla, Ellie, Sadie, and Zole, and two cats named Dora and Tico.  Ava loves stickers and coloring, and riding and grooming her pony.  Her favorite food is chicken and she really likes strawberries. Her role model is her mom and the best place she has ever been is the beach.  Her mom says Ava is very organized and neat, probably from staying in the hospital for so long when she had to constantly keep her small room clean.  Now she loves being home with her family.  Just before Ava’s first birthday, she was diagnosed with leukemia.  She spent many months in the hospital getting chemotherapy.  

Ava is now in remission, which means she is cancer free!   She and her family want to thank the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for all their help and support.
