Jake is a 4th grader at First Presbyterian School in Brandon, MS. In December 2006, Jake went to the doctor's for a yearly checkup. The doctor noticed a rash on his chest and did some blood work. Jake was sent to the local cancer clinic where he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Jake had to undergo 3 1/2 years of treatments and many hospital stays.

This past February, the doctor announced Jake officially as "cancer-free" since it had been 5 years since his last chemotherapy treatment. Jake will be 10 years old this year and his family is grateful to everyone who supported them. "If not for LLS, boys and girls like Jake may not have had the chance he had to live". Jake enjoys legos, fishing, hunting, and playing army.
