Our 2015-2016 Statewide Honored Heroes are Ailynn, Danna and Owen.
Each of these children have battled a blood cancer and will serve as a source of inspiration to our schools and their communities.

Danna Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Danna was diagnosed with ALL in 2005. After going through treatment including chemotherapy, Danna is now in remission. She is in the 5th grade this year and attends DeKalb Elementary School of the Arts where she majors in dance. Danna loves ice cream and her favorite movie is Diary of a Whimpy Kid. She loves skating and dancing and her hero is her mom. Danna wants to encourage everyone participating in Pennies for Patients to know that you are making a difference! |

Owen T Cell Lymphoblasic Lymphoma Owen was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012. After three years of treatment, today Owen is cancer free! He is in the first grade this year and lives in Jefferson, GA. Owen loves to read books and watch anything Power Rangers. His favorite foods are pizza and nachos. Owen loves to play soccer with his friends and play outside with his five dogs. His hero is his mom and he would thank to say thank you to everyone helping with Pennies for Patients this year. |
